Patricia A. Van Breemen, age 88, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Country Court Nursing Home. She was born on January 3, 1931 in Michigan, the daughter of John and Isabelle (Chickering) Duguid.

Patricia enjoyed playing the piano and competing against family and friends over a good game of Scrabble.  She took great pride in her flower garden and in her younger years she had become quite the artist in painting and chalk drawings.  First and foremost, Patricia was a loving and devoted, wife, mother and grandmother that always placed family first over anything else.

She is survived by her children; Julie Van Breemen of Mount Vernon, Diane (Ed) Kent of Warsaw, twins, Daniel Van Breemen of Gladewater, Texas and Denise (Jeff) Krauskopf of Johnstown, Debra (Frank) Wells of Mount Vernon and Linda (Scott) Tarrh of Howard; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one on the way.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harry Van Breemen; a son, David Van Breemen; a daughter, Susan Vernon; a brother, John Carl Duguid; an infant sister, Bonnie Duguid and her canine companion of many years, Peppy.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 beginning at 1 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 where friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service.  Burial will follow in Brandon Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Patricia’s name may be made to Hospice of Knox County.
