Patricia A. Schopp, 84, of Mansfield passed away Friday July 20, 2018 at home surrounded by her loved ones.

The daughter of Jacob and Gladys (Stover) Tesch, Pat was born October 29, 1933 in Ashland and graduated from St. Peter’s Catholic High School.

Pat married her childhood sweetheart and best friend, Paul Schopp, on June 14, 1952. Very active she enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing and bingo.  She cheered for the Cleveland Cavaliers and her beloved Cleveland Indians.  Pat showered her grandchildren and great grandchildren with love and kindness.

A devout Catholic, she served in the choir and as a distributor at Resurrection Parish.  For over 30 years Pat worked as a librarian for Lexington Central Elementary where she later retired.  Following her retirement she volunteered at MedCentral Hospital where she would deliver newspapers, and talk and pray with patients and their families.  Gifted with a vibrant smile and pleasant personality, she was loved by many, and always remembered the many faces and names of former students.  She was also a proud breast cancer survivor.

Pat is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 66 years Paul Schopp Sr. of Mansfield; children Paul “Skip” Schopp, Jr. of Mansfield, Mike (Cindy) Schopp of Bellville, and Lori (Bob) Au of Ontario; grandchildren Heather (Robbie) Robinson, Jeni (Jason) Reamsnider, Ashley (Jordan) Frecka, Jason (Cora) Schopp, Nicole and Courtney Schopp, Aubrey (Sedrick) Porter, and Paul and Shawn Schopp; as well as 17 great grandchildren.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Kristen Au.

Her family will receive friends Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 6-8pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where vigil services will begin at 8 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday at 10:30 am in Resurrection Parish, 2600 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield, Ohio 44904.  Rev. Fr. Nelson Beaver will officiate and burial will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.
