Pastor David R. Dodridge, 80, of Howard finished his race on Thursday morning, July 13, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. Dave was born May 22, 1937 in Scioto County to the late Arnold and Opal (Childers) Dodridge.

Dave and his wife, Teresa served the Lord for over 54 years at several churches in Ohio that included, Perry Chapel Baptist Church, Ostrander Baptist Church, Seville First Baptist Church, Newport Baptist Church, Brandon Baptist Church and Clear Fork Baptist Church.  He also served as an interim Pastor at Clark Township Baptist Church and Liberty Concord Baptist Church.  Dave was a member of the Gem and Mineral Club in Akron and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and making jewelry.

Dave is survived by his wife of 54 years, Teresa (Yant) Dodridge; daughter, Julie (Mike) Gonser of Largo, FL; grandsons, Erik Rockhold of Akron and Aaron Rockhold of Cuyahoga Falls; great grandchildren, Keira and Wyatt Rockhold; sisters, Linda Agin, Nancy Bost, Eva Robbins, Lois McElwee and Debbie Schoener; brothers, John, Jim, Randy and Bob Dodridge; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Lucas; and brothers, Don and Gerald Dodridge.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service celebrating the life of Dave at Noon on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Perry Chapel Baptist Church, 19476 Perry Township Road 380, Warsaw.  Pastor David Fowls will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Perry Chapel Cemetery.

    Such a special man! We know that you will feel Dave’s loss keenly, even as you rejoice for him that He is with His Lord. We feel blessed to have known both of you.
