Pansy M. Funk, age 82, of Beech Street, Mount Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at the Country Court Nursing Home in Mount Vernon. She was born on April 14, 1923 in Milton, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Erskin and Mary (Legg) Clagg.

She was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary for over 50 years. She had been employed by the Knox County Joint Vocational School for many years.

Pansy is survived by two daughters; Roxanna (Thomas) Metcalfe of Fredericktown, Lillie Tablett of Mount Vernon, three grandchildren; Seth (Matisha Cassells) Metcalfe, Nathan (Mary Milstead) Metcalfe and Alesia (Israel) Schaaf, four great-grandchildren; Ridley & Bella Metcalfe and Sierra & Lincoln Schaaf, a brother John Clagg of Reading, California two sisters; Alice Clark of Hurricane, West Virginia and Carolyn Sue Zirkle of South Point, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, James C. Funk, a brother Erskin Clagg Jr. and two sisters; Olice Caldwell and Carrie Clagg.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2005 at 2 P.M. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service. Interment will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
