Pamela K. Schuler, 52, of Galion, died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011 at home after an extended illness.

Born June 24, 1959 in Hampton Roads, Va., she was the daughter of the late Raymond E. Grimwood and Ina L. Jeffries Grimwood who lives in Galion. She is survived by her husband, David P. Schuler, whom she married on July 23, 1993.

A graduate of Galion High School in 1978, Pam served in the U.S. Army from 1982 to 1984 where she was an administrative specialist and expert rifleman. She graduated from Mansfield NCTC School of Nursing in 1993 and worked as a licensed registered nurse doing home health care for special needs children.

Pam’s life revolved around her family and friends. Everything she did was for everyone else, including being a foster parent for three children. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Galion.

In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Julie Schuler of Mansfield and one sister, Cheryl Poland of Galion.

Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 746 Cherry Street, Galion, where her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, with Pastor Tom Snode officiating. Interment will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens.

Military services will be conducted by the U.S. Army and the Galion/Crestline area veteran’s organizations.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pamela K. Schuler Foundation, P.O. Box 3466, 115 Marwood Circle, Boardman, Ohio 44513, to assist families of cancer victims.
