Oscar Noble, age 87, of Harmony Township near Chesterville, passed away Friday morning, January 20, 2017 at Carriage Court Assisted Living facility in Marysville.

He was born September 28, 1929 in Mason Creek, Perry County, Kentucky, the son of the late Sam and Rachael (Creech) Noble.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by all 7 of his siblings.

Oscar retired from Marion Power Shovel.  In addition, he farmed, played the guitar and grew vegetable gardens.

He is survived by five children: Ray (Edna) Noble, Steve (Deb) Noble, Retta (John) Hankins, Sheila (Burgess) Castle, all of Morrow County, and Nikki Noble of Mount Vernon; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including Don (Linda) Noble of Worthington.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Oscar’s name may be made to Hospice of Morrow County, 228 South St., Mount Gilead, OH 43338.
