Ora Wright of Fredericktown, passed away Monday, January 16, 2012 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 24th in Lenore, WV to the late James and Florence (Hatcher) Rose. A lifelong devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; she was a member of the Centerburg Church of God.
Always spunky and strong willed, she was the matriarch of her beloved family. She enjoyed nature, being outdoors and tending to her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. She collected butterflies; humming birds, as well as leaves, fall was her favorite time of year. At times ornery, she was forever caring and nurturing in her daily life. To her there was no place like home. She will be remembered for her love of family, whom she cherished.
She was preceded by her adored husband of almost 46 years: Lee Wright Jr. who died November 9, 2005 as well as 7 brothers and sisters.
Survived by daughters: Atheline (Albert) Fields of Fredericktown, and Aileen (Lester) Fields of Marengo, Granddaughters: Crystal (John) Dabe, Ora LaDonna (Jacob Hinkle), and Robin (Eddie) Lassiter, Great-Grandchildren: Cody, Marissa, Isabelle, Jaxon, special companion Wayne Moore, Sisters: Mildred Simpkins of Jackson, Georgia Brewer of Kermit, WV, special niece: Garnet Rigsby, other nieces, nephews, caretaker Mae West, and dedicated Pastor Jonathan Mitchell.
The family will greet friends on Thursday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at SR 61, Sunbury, where funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Jonathon Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Marengo Cemetery.
