Olive (Slack) Hatfield

Olive (Slack) Hatfield, age 95, of Fredericktown, died Saturday February 6, 2010 at the Heartland Nursing Center in Centerburg. Olive was born November 27, 1914 in Morrow County to Dwight Estle Slack and Blanch (McCormick) Slack and had lived in the same house where she was born and had lived her lifetime, outside of the time she was married and lived with her husband on Green Valley Road.
She was a member of the Sparta United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her stepdaughters Joyce Calver of Mansfield, Georgia Helmick of Fredericktown, Sue Zernes of Mansfield, Marguerite Stringfellow of Wellington, Betty Heil of Roy, Montana, Jean Johnson and Joan McCall both of Mansfield; her stepson Fred Hatfield of Fredericktown and stepdaughter-in-law Ann Hatfield of Florida; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren: many cousins including James McCormick of Fredericktown and special friend and caregiver Pam Passick Besides her parents, Olive was preceded in death by her husband Fred Hatfield, brothers Paul Slack and W. Chester Slack, sister Ruth Slack, stepsons Luther Hatfield, Lucius Hatfield and W.H. “Bill” Hatfield and stepdaughter Louise Leedy.
Friends may call Tuesday from noon until 2pm at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown where funeral services will follow at 2pm. Burial will follow at Bloomfield Cemetery in Morrow County.
