Olive Bernice Darling

BELLVILLE: Olive Bernice Darling, age 93, of State Route 97, East, Bellville, died Saturday morning November 17, 2001, in her home following a long illness.
She was born April 28, 1908, in Rowan County, Kentucky, to Willie S. & Minerva Vance (Crose) Perry, and had lived in the Bellville-Butler area since 1966, coming from Middletown Ohio.
Olive was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was also a member of TOPS Ohio 680, a weight loss club, and for 17 years stayed at her goal weight. Olive loved gardening, baby-sitting, writing letters, and was a loving mother and grandmother to all her family.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Lois & Carroll Oyster of Bellville; ten grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; a sister Opal Alfrey of Mansfield; a daughter-in-law Beatrice Brewer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles J. Darling on February 8, 1975; two sons Floyd and Glen Brewer; two brothers Emmit and Clyde Perry; two sisters Elma Law and Nellie Hughes; and two great grandsons Timothy B. Tilton and Scott Beeman.
Friends may call Monday November 19, 2001, from 4 to 7 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 am in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bellville, with the Rev. Douglas J. Pretorius officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery near Butler.
