Norma Ruthe Witzky, 83, formerly of Middle-Bellville Road, Mansfield, died Saturday morning January 28, 2006 in The Gables of Marysville, following declining health.

She was born February 11, 1922 in Mansfield to Virgil T. and Nellie (Elliott) Alexander, and lived in Mansfield most of her life.

On August 12, 1939 she married Willis J. Witzky, who preceded her in death in 1953.

Norma Ruthe worked 20 years as a receptionist with MedCentral Mansfield Hospital, retiring in 1998.

She was a charter member of Marion Avenue Grace Brethren Church, where she had served the congregation as a deaconess, taught Sunday school, and was a member of the Women’s Missionary Club.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Michael Witzky and Pat Williams of Marysville; a daughter-in-law Linda Geissler in Anolia, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren Matthew, Melissa, Jon, Erin, Alex and Abra and nephew Clif Alexander and four great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son Stephen Witzky and brother Tom Alexander.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 3, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:30 am. The Rev. J. Hudson Thayer will officiate. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
