Norma J. Drake
September 22, 1929 ‒ July 23, 2009
Norma J. Drake, 79, of Edison died Thursday afternoon July 23, 2009 at Woodside Village Care Center.
She was born on September 22, 1929 in Cardington Township the daughter of the late Michial and Leona (Johnson) Sherman.
Norma attended Edison High School and spent her life as a devoted homemaker; always there for her children.
She was known by everyone in Edison as she motored around town in her electric scooter with her furry dachshund companion. Norma loved her dogs and had three over the years, Brownie, Sampson, and most recently Jake.
Norma will be remembered for her mind, which was like a steel trap. She could recall memories from her childhood and names from the past and expected her friends and family to do the same.
Most importantly, Norma cared about everybody.
She will be missed by her children Clarence “Jr.” Keckler of Mount Gilead, Gary (Kristi) Keckler of Marengo, Joe (Lisa) Scribner, Eddie Scribner, and Debbie Houser all of Mount Gilead; 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; her sister Dorothy Stupack of Portland, Oregon; and her special friend and caretaker Evanna Farrell.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands Clarence Keckler, Harvey Scribner, and Francis Drake; two children George Micheal Keckler and Suzie May Scribner; and her siblings Joe, Henry, Art, Jim, Merle, Herb, Bruce, Aldi, Peggy, Beatrice, Myrtle, Carrie, Jessie Ruth, and Betty.
