Norma J. Chase, 87, of Galion passed away Monday, September 16, 2019 at her home after a brief illness.

Born May 28, 1932 in Huron County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Mabel (Steele) Snyder.  She married John T. Chase on June 23, 1956 and he preceded her on March 29, 1958.

She was a graduate of Galion High School in 1950 and worked for the Galion City Schools as a cook for 27 years.  She is a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Galion, enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.

She is survived by a daughter, Jenni Chase of Galion; three sisters, Rosetta (Martin) Estes of Galion, Helen (Carmel) Church of Galion and Ruth Floyd of Indianapolis, Ind. and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude Hinckley and Donna Poffenbaugh; four brothers, Herbert, Ross, Neil and Carl Snyder and a brother-in-law, Joe Floyd.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
