Norma C. Woodward, of Mount Gilead, passed away late Friday evening, October 23, 2020, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

On September 2, 1940, Norma was born in Kingsport, Tennessee, a daughter of the late William Allen and Iva (Anderson) Allen-Duckworth.

Norma liked being outdoors gardening and she spent a great deal of time fishing with her husband, Donald.  When Norma wasn’t outside she enjoyed crocheting and watching television.

The biggest part of Norma’s life was the children in it.  She absolutely adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Norma is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Roger) OBryan of Johnsville; two grandchildren: Christopher (Jackie Whitehair) Thompson II of Galion, Ashley (Jacob) Thompson-Sexton of Mount Gilead; three great grandchildren: Christopher Thompson III, Jilly Crisp, Channon Stuckman; nieces and nephews: Thomas Bush II, Tonya (Ron) Hinkle, Sabrina Haddock, Cindy Posey; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald M. Woodward who passed away on December 26, 2010; siblings: Paul Allen, Betty Allen, Charlotte Bush, Charles Duckworth; and her last surviving sister, Linda Damron, passed away just 10 hours after Norma.

Norma’s daughter Dawn will scatter her cremated remains at one of her favorite places, Bays Mountain, in Kingsport, Tennessee.
