Nola Eve­lyn Gale, 101, of Ash­ley passed away Thurs­day morn­ing (April 5, 2012) at the Heart­land of Marion.
She was born May 30, 1910 in Mason County, W.Va., to Robert and Nancy (Birch­field) Edwards. She retired from the RB Pow­ers Com­pany in Ash­ley and was also a home­maker. She had been an Ash­ley res­i­dent since 1926, was a mem­ber of the Ash­ley Amer­i­can Legion Aux­il­iary and the Alum Creek Friends Church, and enjoyed quilt­ing and flowers.
She is sur­vived by 12 grand­chil­dren, Sue (Richard) Irey, Michael (Audrey) Gale, Gary Gale, Jeff (Dee) Gale, Bev (Armando) Castillo, Kim­berly (Terry) Hum­mel, Kerry Gale, Karen (Joe) Burge, Cathy (Brad) Reece, Christi Gale, Gre­gory Gale and Terry Gale; 20 great-grandchildren; numer­ous great-great-grandchildren; three daughters-in-law, Joann Tyler of Chari­ton, Iowa, Ruth Gale of Mount Gilead and Mar­i­lynn Gale of Texas; and sister-in-law, Erdine Stan­ley of Ashley.
She was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, Floyd; sons, Floyd Jr., Dale, Wayne and Allen; sis­ters, Mae Eckard, Rebecca Crump, Clara Williamson and Ruby Reichardt; broth­ers, Lewis, Guy, William and Frank Edwards; and a daughter-in-law, Tom­mie Gale.
The fam­ily will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Mon­day, April 9, at the Rod­man Neeper Funeral Home, 307 E. High St., Ash­ley and where funeral ser­vices will be held at 11 a.m. Tues­day, April 10, with the Rev. Dar­ryle Moody offi­ci­at­ing. Bur­ial will fol­low in Marl­boro Cemetery.
Con­tri­bu­tions in her mem­ory may be given to the Alum Creek Friends Church or to Heart­land Hospice.
