Nobert D. Foor, 90, of Galion passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Signature HealthCARE in Galion.

He was born January 30, 1928 in Macy, Indiana and was the son of Orville and Nina (Carvey) Foor. Nobert is survived by his wife of 27 years, Ruth (Tomlin) Smith Foor whom he married on March 2, 1991.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army near the end of World War II. Nobert worked for many years at the former North Electric in Galion. He was a past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4329 and AMVETS Polk Township Post 1979 both of Galion. Nobert enjoyed traveling, watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, supporting his grandchildren’s activities and attending family gatherings.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter Cheryl (Steve) Washington of Lexington; step-sons Steve Smith of Galion, Mike (Sue) Smith of Galion and Tony (Charrise) Smith of Edison; seven grandchildren Tim (Anna) Washington, Ann (Brad) Howell, Amy (Chad) Legron, Andrea (Bill) Nelson, Steve (Tasha) Smith, Hunter (Kaitlyn) Smith and Justin Haas; six great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law Bill (Lois) Foor.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 26. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the Galion Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home.

  • Nobert worked in the IT department at North Electric along with others including myself. Over the years, I wondered what ever happened to him after leaving the Company. I thought he may have moved back to Indiana, but to my surprise he remained in Galion.
