Nina E. Frye, age 91, of Mount Vernon passed away at her home on Thursday, January 4, 2018. She was born on February 4, 1926 in Richland County, Ohio to the late Clarence and Luta (Freuhafer) Derrow.  She was a homemaker who was active in her children’s school and extracurricular activities prior to accepting a position with Cooper Bessemer from which she retired in 1989.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening

Nina is survived by her son Steven (Cecile) Frye; her daughter Sheryl (Bob) Charron; her grandchildren Aimee Frye, Joel Vernon, Krista Macsata, Jesse Frye; and three great grandchildren, Kali Gifford, Lillian Mascata, and Mason Mascata.

In addition to her parents, Nina was preceded in death by her husband Carrol Frye; four brothers, Herschel, Donald, Robert and Donavin Derrow; and five sisters, Muriel DeLong, Evelyn Derrow, Opal Wise, Ethel Doup and Dorothy Wise.

Friends may call on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 1-2PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. A service will follow beginning at 2PM with Mr. Roger Marra officiating.  Burial will take place at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Station Break Senior Center, 160 Howard St. Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050.

She knew my family and worked at Coopers with Jims Mother, Florence McKay. Know all of us who gather on Thursdays at the salon will miss Nina!
