Nellie Louise Fregonas, age 71, of Sunbury, OH passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018 at the Kobacker House in Columbus OH.

Nellie, originally from New Bern, NC had lived in the area for over 42 years.  She was known for her ability to make people laugh as well as her caring and respectful character.  Nellie, an interior designer by profession, graduated from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 1984 and went on to make her mark in the homes of the people in central Ohio in a career that spanned decades.  She was also known to be quite the handy-woman and gardener as she found much joy tending to the flowers she so dearly loved.

In addition to her late parents, Harvey and Mary McGlawhorn, Nellie was preceded in death by her brother, John Wilson.

Nellie leaves behind a loving husband of nearly 27 years, John Fregonas, of the home in Sunbury; two daughters: Tracy Keene (Scott Dolan) of Ashley, OH, Corey Gepper of Delaware, OH; two grandsons: Dustin Bullington and Travis Dolan, both of Ashley, OH; a brother: Willie Wilson, of Farmville, NC; and a sister: Barbara Wilson of New Bern, NC.

A celebration of a life well lived for Nellie Fregonas will take place on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 6:00 pm at Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Dr. Delaware, OH 43015 with pastor Marvin Hintz officiating.  The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.  A private interment will occur at a later date.

  • I had the pleasure of working with Nellie at DIM in Columbus Ohio. She was a beautiful person inside and out. We shared a lot of laughs as well as a few tears. Always dressed very nice with a smile that matched. To the family may God bless each and everyone if you. Lifting you in prayer for peace and comfort. Nellie will never be forgotten.

  • I also had the pleasure of working with Nellie at DMI. She always had that smile on her face just like pictures in the video. We didn’t keep in contact after the company shut down.   • I had the honor of meeting Miss Nellie when she began working at DMI. It was an absolute pleasure working with her. It was hard to have a bad day with her contagious laugh, huge smile, and soul that was just as beautiful as she was. She will never be forgotten.
