Nathan W. “Nate” Dotters, age 41, of Mount Gilead, passed away peacefully, Thursday evening, November 15, 2018, at Marion General Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends. He fought the good fight against brain cancer and earned his wings to meet his Lord and Savior.

Born on May 19, 1977, in Columbus, OH, Nate was the only son of Alex G. and Cynthia A. (Baugess) Dotters. A graduate of Mount Gilead High School, Nate gradated with the class of 1995.

While living in Kentucky, Nate worked as a level 3 State Highway Department employee and later went on to be a truck driver for the Coca-Cola Distribution Center.

Nate had a love for the outdoors. He was a big fan of Field and Stream as he loved hunting and fishing. Nate also liked to boat and go 4-wheeling. Having gift of imagination Nate was very talented in drawing and loved woodworking with his grandpa. One of his prize creations was a mirror he made for his mother.

A man of faith, Nate was a member of the Mount Gilead Church of Christ.

Left to cherish his memory include is loving parents: Alex and Cyndi; daughters: Skylar and Macie Dotters; special aunt, Tammy Love; a cousin who was like a little brother, Austin Love; cousins: Hunter Dotters and Angel Love; great grandma, Leota Baugess; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and beloved friends who become family.

Nate was preceded in death by many grandparents of which he was extra close to grandpa, Bill Baugess.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at 11 AM, at the Mount Gilead Church of Christ. Pastor Doug Bryan, Clayton Hershner, Howard Houston, and Jerry Snavely will lead the celebration. His family will greet friends at 10:30 AM.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Gilead Church of Christ.

  • I am so sorry for the loss of Nathan but at least he is in no more pain and we will all see him again someday.He was a great friend to me we’ve had a great time riding 4 wheelers and just hanging out and I’m gonna miss him he was like a brother to me.

  • My heart dropped when I read that Nate had lost his battle, but we all know he has a better body, no more pain and is doing all the things that he loved to do on earth. I know this does not heal your pain. I know God is with you all. God Bless
