Naomi Mullins Ratliff

Naomi Mullins Ratliff, age 92, of Fulton, went to be with her Lord Sunday evening, October 4th, 2015, at the Woodside Village Care Center in Mount Gilead.

On May 2, 1923, Naomi was born in Tivis, VA, the daughter of the late Silas and Crissie (Potter) Mullins.  She graduated from Haysi High School in Virginia.

Naomi married Maynard R. Ratliff on December 20, 1945 and they shared over 49 years together before he preceded her in death in 1994.

She resided in Fulton prior to her last few years at Woodside Nursing Home. She was noted for her loving hugs, large gardens, “hillbilly” cooking and good sound advice that she gave only when asked.

“She will be sorely missed by all but I know she was welcomed with loving arms by our Savior.”

She is survived by her two children: Gary (Tricia) Ratliff of Elkhorn, NE, Brenda (Roger) Beall of Mount Gilead; four grandchildren: Jennifer Ratliff Witt, Amy Ratliff Freshman, Patrick Beall and Kelly Beall; Six great grandchildren: Sivana Witt, Mason Witt, Callie Witt, Blake Worsham, Dylan Craycraft and Silas Beall; brother, Marvin Mullins of Galena; and sister, Glechia Counts of Ashley.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Faye McKinster and a brother, Shelton Mullins.

The Ratliff family will greet friends from 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead.  Services celebrating her life will immediately follow there at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Bill Smith officiating.  Burial with graveside committal services conducted by Rev. Joshua Melvin will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Glendale Cemetery in Cardington.

Memorial contributions in Naomi’s honor may be made to The American Cancer Society.
