MANSFIELD: Nancy Taylor Cheney, 76, of Mansfield, died Monday, August 2, 2004 in Glenview at Pelican Bay, Naples, Florida following a short illness.

She was born April 12, 1928 in New Carlisle, Ohio to Balt and Thelma Burrows Taylor. Nancy received her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from The Ohio State University in 1949.

Nancy, along with her husband Harry, had owned and operated Manpower Temporary Services for 20 years. She was especially proud of her work as a mother and businesswoman.

Nancy was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Delta Zeta Sorority, Westbrook Country Club and Collier’s Reserve Country Club in Naples, Florida.

As a devoted mother and grandmother, she played an important role in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Nancy never missed the opportunity to support her grandchildren in their athletic events during both high school and college careers.

She is survived by her two loving daughters Candice C. Blahnik of Mansfield, and Kimberly C. Porter of Naples Florida; three grandchildren Nicholas T. Porter of Lexington, Kentucky, Jeffery J. Blahnik of Mansfield, and Bethany A. Blahnik of Mansfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Harry Allen Cheney on March 30, 1999, and her son Jeffery Taylor Cheney on August 16, 1970.

Friends may call Sunday, August 8, 2004 from 1-4pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Monday at 11am in the Grace Episcopal Church, 41 Bowman Street, Mansfield. The Rev. David S. Sipes, Rector Emeritus will officiate. A private family burial will be held in Mansfield Cemetery.
