Nancy L. “Queen B” (Wymer) Brooks Bartley, age 57 of Delaware passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at Kobacker House surrounded by her family following a 4 month illness with stomach cancer.

Born on February 8, 1960 in Delaware, she was a daughter of the late James A. Wymer and Ruby A. (Hubbard) Wymer Helton of Sunbury. A graduate of Big Walnut High School in 1978, she moved to Delaware in 1990.

For 38 years Nancy worked in various capacities with EPRO-Seneca Tile Company, most recently as plant manager. Both sweet and stubborn, she lived a life concerned for others. Described as the life of a party, she liked to have a good time.

She enjoyed a passion for decorating for the Christmas Holidays.  Along with her son and family their legendary holiday light displays numbered in excess of 72,000 Christmas lights and were known as B & B’s Bright Lights. She was a strong woman of God and had been a member of the Galena, Sunbury, and Highpoint Nazarene Church’s.

This wonderful mother, amazing mother-in-law, great sister and daughter will be remembered for her helpful ways and big smile.

In addition to her mother Ruby of Sunbury she is also survived by her son Brandon Brooks and daughter-in-law and friend Patricia (Elliott) Brooks of Delaware, sisters Luana (John) Simpson of Columbus, Laura Pennington of Sunbury, brothers Donald (Ruth) Wymer of Marengo, Charles (Jeanine) Wymer of Galena, mother-in-law Linda Smallwood of Johnstown, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by first husband of 19 years Keith Brooks in 1997, her second husband of 4 years Steve “Big Daddy” Bartley in 2004, her father James in 1976, step-father Everett Helton in 2013, infant son Ryan Keith, brother Harry “Jimmy” Wymer, sister-in-law Peggy Wymer, brother-in-law; Nick Pennington, and nephew Ray Wymer.

Friends may call 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 N. SR 61 at SR 3, Sunbury, where services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday with Pastor Jeff Deel officiating. Burial will follow in Galena Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to James Cancer Hospital.

  • I talked with Nancy many times over the years as a customer of Seneca/Epro . Nancy was a terrific person and I am so sad that she passed away. My heart goes out to you and your family.
