Nancy Ann (Bowman) Kent, 84, of Galion passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Signature HealthCARE in Galion surrounded by her family.

She was born February 27, 1935 in Lattasburg, Ohio and was the daughter of Ralph E. and Hilda M. (Grable) Bowman. Nancy is survived by her husband of 66 years, Richard L. Kent, whom she married on January 22, 1953.

Nancy graduated from Mansfield Senior High School and continued her education at the former Mansfield School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse for over 30 years at Galion Community Hospital. Nancy was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Galion and was very devoted to the former Galion Chapter of the American Red Cross, where she taught CPR, disaster drills and worked the Red Cross Disaster Trailer. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, crafts, ceramics, gardening and was a former Brownie Troop and Cub Scout Leader. Nancy especially loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Richard A. (Roberta) Kent of Galion, Robert (Sandy) Kent of Philo, Ohio, Russell Kent of Galion, Lucinda “Cindy” (Jerry) Voss of Galion and Jennifer (Dirk) Eachus of Galion; nine grandchildren, Dustin (Michelle) Kent, Eric (Mandy) Kent, Kristi Kent, Josh (Raeciel) Kent, Jessica Kent, Lindy (Dustin) Edgell, Casey Voss, Nicholas Eachus and Nathaniel Eachus; eight great-grandchildren, Cali, Lexi, Cooper, Carly, Colby, Elijah, Danny and Lucy; step-brothers, Dick (Ann) Kinney of Wooster, Ron (Carolyn) Kinney of Wooster and Larry (Ruby) Kinney of St. Cloud, Florida and numerous extended family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a step-mother, Hazel (Kinney) Bowman.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Grace Point, 683 Portland Way North, Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 12 with Rev. Paul Walter officiating.
