Myron C. “Punk” Franklin

Myron C. “Punk” Franklin, age 70 of Sunbury died unexpectedly early Sunday morning, April 22, 2007 at his home.
He was born on Feb 21, 1937 in Columbus to the late Charles W. and Virginia (Frye) Franklin. A graduate of Central High School in 1955, he lived the majority of his life in Sunbury. Punk was a longtime trucker he spent his life on the highway with the pedal to the metal, delivering various goods. Self employed he worked for over 30 years hauling for Galena Shale and Brick, Coleway Foods, and for Riss International.
Both ornery and mischievous, he liked to have a good time. He liked to tease his friends and family, and never met a stranger. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting for squirrel and deer. Most of all he cherished his grandson’s and attending their sporting activities, as well as going back to the family homestead in Flatgap, Kentucky.
Survived by his wife of 50 years: Doris Jean (Segraves) whom he married October 7, 1956 in Centerburg, Son: Todd (Terri) Franklin of Sunbury, Grandsons: Todd Jr., Jack, Chris, Sisters-in-law: Betty L. Blanton of Volga, KY and Lissie J. Volkmar of Columbus.
Preceded in death by daughter: Waneta Sue Franklin in 1975 and a infant brother Robert F. Franklin.
Friends may call Tuesday 4-7 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury, where services will be held Wednesday 1:00 p.m., interment will follow in Sunbury Memorial Park.
