Mike D. Brady, 61, of Galion passed away after a brief illness Sunday evening, August 18, 2019.

He was born May 17, 1958 in Wayland, Kentucky and was the son of Gene Autry and Shirley Mayford (Smith) Brady. Mike is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sharon (Coykendall) Brady whom he married on July 10, 1978.

Mike graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1976 and worked for many years at U-Brand in Shelby. He also was a truck driver for several years. Mike was a devoted husband, father and “Pappy” to his grandchildren. He was a “jack of all trades” and enjoyed working on cars.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Mike (Danielle) Brady of Akron and Jason (Crystal) Brady of Shelby; six grandchildren Salene, Gavyn, Liveah, Lennon, Cecelia and Holly; brother Jerry (Barb) Brady of Mansfield; two sisters Sabrina (Jim) Dove of Illinois and Becky Brady of Mansfield; special friend John Thompson of Shelby and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Lee Brady.

The family will have a gathering of family and friends at a later date.

  • So sorry to hear of Mikes passing I remember U Brand and a few visits to your home on Boston street even waking up to watch cartoons with the kids one Saturday morning . Always meant to stop to see if he was still there I guess this is why he’s been on my mind lately.

  • I worked with Mike at Ubrand in Shelby and he was a great man. Mike was respected by all and let everyone know that his wife was the love of his life and his children were his greatest joy. What a good guy. He will be missed.
