Micheal Thomas Schartiger

March 21, 1978 ‒ January 30, 2020

Mansfield, Ohio

MANSFIELD: Micheal Thomas Schartiger, 41, of Mansfield, unexpectedly and suddenly passed away January 30, 2020 at home following a pulmonary embolism.

He was born March 21, 1978 in Mansfield, OH and was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School.

He loved music, car stereos, nature, sports, playing cards and spoiling his niece and nephew with the latest and greatest toys. Mike was a kind and compassionate spirit. He was generous, gentle and loyal to a fault. He was the type of guy who would do anything he could to help a person in need. What people most remember about Mike is his soft-hearted nature and his infectious smile. He had the ability to make anyone smile and laugh when he entered a room with his comedic personality. There were so many other words that people have used to describe him: caring, loving, a big teddy bear, fun to be around, empathetic, strong-willed, forgiving and big hearted.

He is survived by his Mother Patsy Elliott, Father Lester (Mitzi) Schartiger, Brother Doug (Janelle) Schartiger, Sister Sherri Schartiger, Niece Brenna Schartiger, Nephew Brayden Schartiger, along with numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Carl and June Herring, Lester and Victoria Schartiger, Stepfather Donald Elliott, and Nephew Zain Faulcon.

A celebration of Micheal’s life will be held for family and friends Friday February 7th at 5:30 PM at Fusion Ministries 220 Industrial Dr, Lexington, OH 44904.

The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is serving his family.

  • I am so sorry Patsy and family. I Loved Mikey so very much
Mikey came in to my life I feel when I needed him. He had this way about him to make me laugh and smile when I was so sad. One memory I want to share with you all is being in the car with mikey and the song ” I am gonna love you like I am gonna lose you ” by Meghan Trainer and John Ledgend we would both sing that song like we owned it lol.
The world today is a little darker with this loss. Mikey was a light and love that this world is gonna miss. I am going to miss as you all and all that knew him will as well.
Fly high my mikey!!!♡♡♡ love you always your sissy la la [ his nickname for me] Kristen Shearer
