Michael Ray Phillips, age 50, of Galion, died suddenly Friday, February 23, 2001 as a result of injuries he sustained in a construction accident in Crestline.
He was born May 17, 1950 in Mt. Gilead, Ohio; the son of Harold & Maxine Phillips of Mt. Gilead and the late Beulah Mae Lucas Phillips who preceded him in death in 1955.
He was a graduate of Highland High School class of 1968.
He was employed as a farmer , and was employed at McClain Corporation of Galion prior to working for Harris Tri-City Construction on Monday of last week.
He was a member of the Galion Moose Lodge and the National Rifle Association, and enjoyed farming.
In addition to his father & step-mother he is survived by his wife, the former Rosa Lewis, whom he married on December 22, 1974; his daughters and son-in-law: Sherry & George Fortune of Galion, Tammy and Lisa Phillips of Fredericktown; his son Davis Phillips of Galion; his grandson Jamie Phillips of Fredericktown; his brothers Wesley Phillips of Galion and Brad Phillips of Mt Gilead; his sisters Dinah Phillips of Galion, Teresa Lupton of Columbus and Genell Ryon of Groveland, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister Jennifer Phillips in 1970.
Friends may call Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home, 76. S, Main St in Mt. Gilead, where Rev. Bruce Hartley will hold Funeral Services Tuesday at 1:00 p.m.. Burial will follow in Rivercliff Cemetery.
