Michael Andrew Schmunk

February 28, 1980 ‒ October 22, 2015

Columbus, Ohio

Michael A. Schmunk passed away unexpectedly doing what he enjoyed most, riding his motorcycle on October 22, 2015 in Columbus. He was 35.

He was born February 28, 1980 in Mansfield to parents Jeffrey & Bobbie (Berry) Schmunk. He graduated with honors from Ontario High School, with the class of 1998, and later attended Ohio State University.

Michael was fun loving, light hearted, and truly lived life to its fullest. He was very passionate about his motorcycle and always looked for an excuse to be out riding. Also an avid sports fan, Michael enjoyed watching and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

He is survived by his loving parents Dr. Jeffrey A. & Bobbie Schmunk of Mansfield; brother Matthew D. & N.K. Schmunk of Columbus; aunts and uncles Jean & Joe Cody of Grandview Heights and Linda Haas of Brandon, Florida.

A private graveside service will be held in Michael’s memory at a later date.

Contributions in his memory to the Richland County Dog Shelter may be made at or mailed to the funeral home: PO Box 3085, Mansfield, Ohio 44904.
