Max J. Walton, age 68, of Coshocton Road, Mount Vernon, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

He was born on April 14, 1945 in Mount Vernon to the late Harley and Gertrude (Farley) Walton. Max was employed as an administrator for the Colonial City Moose Lodge #2555 here in Mount Vernon. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post #4027. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals. But most of all, Max loved the time he spent with his family.

He is survived by his wife Joyce (Van Dyke) Walton; his son Kirby (Wendy Wise) Walton of Amity; three daughters, Holly (Jeff) Miller of Mount Vernon, Amy (Ken Scruggs) Walton of Mount Vernon, Barbara Lyons of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren, Ceth, Christina (Clark), Kaianna (Dr. Fred), Jacob, Danny, Bailey and Amanda; two great grandchildren, Rosie and Colton; and his brother Harry (Marcella) Walton of Arizona.

Besides his parents, Max was preceded in death by his brother Roy Walton.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-6 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home with a Colonial City Moose service beginning at 6 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, at the funeral home, beginning at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
