Matthew “Matt” Eric Fuller
March 07, 1969 ‒ March 24, 2008
BUTLER: Matthew “Matt” Eric Fuller, 39, of rural Butler, died Monday, March 24, 2008.
He was born March 7, 1969 in Mt. Vernon to Rollo M. and Dorothy (Woodward) Fuller. He attended Knox County Joint Vocational School, where he studied telecommunications, and graduated from Clear Fork High School in 1987.
Matt lived his entire life in the Butler area. As a youth he participated in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He enjoyed making his own toys from boxes and other odds and ends around the house. In high school, he participated in wrestling. He was also a member of GPAA (Gold Panner’s Association of America) and had much fun on excursions hunting for treasure. While growing up he attended Grace Fellowship Church.
Matt worked in construction, mostly doing freelance jobs.
In his free time Matt enjoyed fishing with his brother John. The two of them could be spotted at an auction where they would buy items to “wheel and deal” along with their friends. He spent hours with his brother making repairs and watching the deer, turkeys, and other wildlife.
The family dog “Sadie” brought him great joy. A hearty meal at his mom’s house was a favorite way to end his day.
Matt will be remembered for his inventive mind, his gift of story telling, and his special bond with his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents Rollo Fuller of Livingston, Tennessee, and Dorothy Fuller of Butler, two sisters and brothers-in-law Sheila and Carl Burkhart of Perrysville, Marla and Duane Tanner of Ontario; a brother Rollo John Fuller of Butler; nieces Kristen, Jessica and Jenna Burkhart; nephews Justin, Jacob, and Jared Reid, and Colton Burkhart; uncles Howard and Chester Woodward; aunts “Cookie” Cray and Nora Garrick. Matt would want all to know how special Marge and Danny Wilkinson were to him for their friendship, generosity, and friendship. He was also grateful to his friend Gregg Allen, and his circle of close friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved maternal grandparents Walter and Jeannette Woodward; his paternal grandfather Rollo C. Fuller; aunts Diana Woodward, Erlynn Woodward, and Judy Myers; and uncles Tom Fuller, Dick Wilson, and Herbert Woodward.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 29, 2008 from 4-8 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 30, 2008 at 3 pm in Grace Fellowship Church, 365 Straub Road East, Mansfield. Pastor Jerry King will officiate. Private interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers please bring new hats suitable for kids with cancer. Memorial contributions may also be made to Matt’s nephew Jared’s Boy Scout Troop #170, Ontario, or Grace Fellowship Church Youth Group.
