Mary (Stoneburner) Braham
August 20, 1926 ‒ April 11, 2021
As the sun rose this past April 11, 2021 Mary (Stoneburner) Braham released her daughters hand and took Gods hand as she left this earth. Family was everything to Mary and even in death she continues to touch each of us left behind. Just as loved were her friends through the years and her church, first Trinity Baptist then Grand Prairie Baptist Church. Mary’s love of the Lord and children lead her to work in the nursery at church until she was 84. No child was going without a hug if Mary was around!
Mary was known, not only for her abundance of love, but for her stubbornness. She would go toe-to-toe with any problem, anytime, and always had one more round in her. She may have been knocked down by many tragedies in her life but she always came back swinging. She never gave up on God, anything, or anyone. If she loved you, it was for eternity. Mary always did things her way and never asked for help. She was strong, independent, and determined to the very end.
At 94 years old, Mary was preceded in death by so many she loved. Married to Irwin (Mike) Braham they had three children. Her husband Mike, her daughter, Nancy Severns, and her son, Mike Braham all have passed before her. Her surviving child is Mary Braham Riegle. Mary L Braham lives on in the hearts and memories of the 6 grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren she so loved. She is also survived by one brother, Delbert Stoneburner who loved to torment her and she wouldn’t have wanted it any other way!
Visitation will be Friday, April 16, 2021 at Snyder Funeral, Gunder/Hall Chapel, 347 West Center St., Marion from 11AM to 12Noon; Funeral service will immediately follow at 12Noon; Burial will be in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
Mary loved her flowers so if you wish, honor her with flowers. Mary was also very generous and always wanted to help others. If you would prefer, honor her with a contribution to the Marion Alzheimer’s Association in memory of her beloved husband, I. A. (Mike) Braham. Loving God, she would also be honored by your prayers.
Thank you God for blessing those of us left behind with having known her in our lives.
