Mary M. Tomsic, 95, formerly of Parkside Drive, Ashland died Tuesday morning, May 24, 2005, in Alterra Sterling House, Mansfield.

She was born June 22, 1909 in Cleveland to John and Mary Meglich Walker. Her mother died shortly after giving birth so Mary was raised by her stepmother Rosa. On June 4, 1935 she was married to Joseph A. Tomsic, who preceded her in death in 1958, and for 19 years worked in the blueprint room for the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Mary was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Ashland and enjoyed crocheting and sewing while taking care of her most important interests as a stay-at-home wife and mother.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Joe and Beverly Tomsic of Mansfield; a granddaughter and her husband Joy and Ryan Dials of Mansfield; a grandson Chris Tomsic and his fiancée Dawn Heston of Columbus; a great grandson, Trevor Dials; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Helen Davis of Coshocton and Angela and William Turner of Mansfield; a sister-in-law Marge Walker of Ashland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, sisters Rose Landis and Anna Mae McGee and brothers John Walker, James Walker and Theodore Walker preceded Mary in death.

Friends may call at the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, 2553 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield on Friday, May 27, 2005 the hour prior to the funeral service to be held at 11 am. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery, 523 West Main Street, Ashland. Father Michael Zacharias, from St. Peter’s Catholic Church, will officiate.
