Mary M. Foti, 88, a lifelong Galion resident, died Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Village Care Center in Galion.

Born May 13, 1922 in Galion, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Anna Greco Farina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Foti in 1969.

Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Galion Women of the Moose Chapter 177. She was an excellent cook and gardener and enjoyed following Ohio sports teams. She retired from Geauga Co. in Crestline in 1985, after 15 years.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Judi and Richard Herrmann of Galion; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dominick E. Foti of rural Galion and Salvador “Sam” and Barbara Foti of Galion; five grandchildren, Connie Paul Cassady, Richard Herrmann, Ken Foti, Annie Troy Mondine and Salvador Foti; five great-grandchildren, Justin and Angela Cassady and Tam, Troy and Trenton Mondine; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Charles and Doris Farina of Mansfield and Barbara Farina of Galion; one sister, Rosie Jurgeson of Kansas City, Mo. and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, David E. Foti; two brothers, John and Angelo Farina and four sisters, Gertrude Sherman, Theresa Fisher, Carmella Feora and Josephine Carmel.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion where a Vigil Service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday led by Deacon Greg Kirk. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion with Father Tony Borgia, celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
