Mary M. Douce, age 92, of the Ohio Masonic Home, Springfield, and formerly of Caledonia and Marion, died at 6:15 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2006.

She was born on January 6, 1914, in Groveport, Ohio to the late Joseph D. and Maude Alice (Bookman) Rohr.

Mary married Robert Lowell Douce on September 14, 1940, in Kentucky and he preceded her in death on April 4, 1981.

She worked for the State of Ohio Department of Vocational Rehabilitation as a clerk typist, and was a former member of the Caledonia and Oakland United Methodist Churches and a member of the Rebecca Lodge and the Eastern Star.

Mary is survived by her son L. Dwight (Barb) Douce of Wooster, Ohio, and her daughter Deanna Douce of Cincinnati, Ohio; granddaughter Beth (Mark) Nadolski and children Alex and Dylan; a grandson Brian (Marcella) Douce; two sisters Madge Baum of Ashville and Lee (William) Shroyer of Cincinnati.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two brothers Charles and her twin Joseph Rohr and a sister Jane Easterbrook.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at the Ohio Masonic Home, 2655 National Road, Springfield, Ohio 45501, with the Rev. Howard L. Benson officiating. Private burial will be in the Claridon Cemetery, in Claridon, Ohio.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home.
