Mary Lammert Morley

MANSFIELD: Mary Lammert Morley, age 57, of Millersburg, and formerly of Mansfield, died Monday June 25, 2001 in Castle Nursing Homes in Millersburg following a long illness.

She was born April 11, 1944 in Mansfield to John L. and Mary Adelle (Shaw) Morley.

In January of 1953, just a few months shy of her ninth birthday, Mary was involved in a sledding accident that left her unconscious for 93 days. The accident and the subsequent coma permanently damaged her brain and also left Mary handicapped.

In 1963, Mary graduated from McCallum High School in Austin, TX. After graduating, she lived in Cincinnati, Mansfield, Lexington and then from 1967 to 1977 in Columbus. Mary’s injuries left her unable to live without supervision or assistance, Throughout the trials of her life, which were great, Mary’s spirit stayed strong as she coped with situations that often ranged from frustrating to impossible.

She was a great personality with a natural wit. Through Mary’s hardships, she taught us patience, perseverance, and the importance of love.

She is survived by two sisters Adelle Morley of Lexington and Lynne Ashbrook of Alexandria; a well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home served the family with private services.
