Mary L. Shoenfelt

Mary L. Shoenfelt, 95, of Galion passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 at her granddaughter’s home lovingly surrounded by family.
Born April 29, 1919 in Columbus, she was the daughter of Joe Koysh and Stephane Marie (Kramer) Koysh Zimmerman. Mary married Earl Kurtzman and he preceded her in death and she later married Beauford Shoenfelt and he also preceded her.
Mary was a member of Blooming Grove Seventh Day Adventist Church and the Galion Chapter Woman of the Moose #177. She was a devoted mother and enjoyed playing cards, fishing and especially loved her pets.
She survived by daughters Donna (Ron) Correll-Smith of Galion, Betty Taylor and friend Jim Schiffer Sr. of Bucyrus and Mary Jane Pitts of Georgia; seven grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren and dear friend William (Michelle) Spencer of Sandusky.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers Joe Koysh and Herb Heilman; sisters Bess Koysh and Eleanor Heilman and special friend Samuel Carpenter.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Fairview Cemetery in Galion with Pastor Richard Baldwin officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crawford County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
