Mary L. DeVore, 82, of Lexington, formerly of Galion, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007 at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness.

Born Nov. 19, 1924 in Galion, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Hiltner and Florence Keller Hiltner. She was preceded in death in 1982 by her husband, Robert B. DeVore, whom she married in 1942.

She was a member of Caesarea Baptist Church and graduated from Leesville High School. She was a volunteer for Child Evangelism Fellowship and a former member of Naomi Chapter 47 Order of Eastern Star in Galion. She volunteered for the Crawford County Council on Aging Meals on Wheels and worked as a secretary for the late Henry Egner, at C. R. & M. Trucking in Galion.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, R. Michael and Claudia DeVore of Mansfield; one daughter, Karen Mesnard of Lexington; six grandchildren, Stephanie Chalikonda, Bryan Mesnard, Cary Ogello, Nikki Mesnard, Bailey and Ryan Wilson and two great grandchildren, Carleigh and Olivia Mesnard.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Ronald Hiltner.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2007 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Workman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
