Mary L. Augenstein

Mary L. Augenstein, 96, died Sunday morning September 30, 2007 at the Marion Manor.
Mary was a lifelong resident of the Waldo and Norton communities.
She was born on August 20, 1911 in Richland Township, Marion County, the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Bertha (Stark) Klingel.
On June 25, 1928 Mary married her loving husband Ralph F. Augenstein in Delaware County. They were married for 63 years until his passing in 1991.
While Mary helped on the family farm in previous years, her most important role was that of homemaker, mother, and grandmother.
She was a long time devoted member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waldo where she participated in the Sunday School Class, the Deborah Circle, and Sewing Sisters. She also was a part of the Waldo Wit and Wisdom Club, and the Community Garden Club.
She will be missed by her son Richard (Nancy) Augenstein of Prospect; daughters Jeannette (Doyle) Cook of Waldo, and Marilyn (Jack) Andrews of Marion; 10 grandchildren Pamela (James) Ellis, Diane (Patrick) Street, Roger (Kathy) Groll, Debra (Richard) Herringshaw, Beverly (Douglas) Ford, Steven Andrews, Patricia (Jeffrey) Carwile, Douglas (Brandi) Augenstein, Christina (Thomas) Lust, and Michael (Julie) Augenstein; 17 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; and her sister Bernice Dietsch of Marion.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother Raymond Klingel; and 4 sisters Ellen Lynn, Marguerite Fogle, Edith Long, and Ada Augenstein.
Friends may call on the family on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 4-7 p.m. at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center Street, Marion. Friends may also call one hour prior to the funeral service, which will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 135 Main Street, Waldo, Ohio 43356. Burial will follow in Waldo Cemetery.
