Mary Ellen Faulds, 89, of Galion, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008 at home.

Born Sept. 13, 1919 in Canton, she was the daughter of the late Harry Arthur Steineck and Mildred Alice Hose Steineck. She was preceded in death on Nov. 17, 1998 by her husband, William H. Faulds whom she married on June 6, 1949.

She was a graduate of Altman’s School of Nursing in Canton and later completed her Bachelor’s Degree. She worked as the director of nurses at Crestline Hospital and previously worked at Galion Community Hospital. She attended the Free Methodist Church and had served on the Galion Red Cross Board of Directors where she helped with the blood drives. She also played the organ at the First Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, William C. and Marty Faulds of Galion and Robert A. and Paula Faulds of Port Clinton; one daughter and son-in-law, Mariellen and Greg Sheffer of White Cloud, Mich.; 13 grandchildren, Amanda Faulds, Philip Sheffer, Rhett Faulds, Adalyn Faulds, Joanna Sheffer, Isaac Faulds, Nathanael Sheffer, Peter Sheffer, Andrew Sheffer, Silas Sheffer, Timothy Sheffer, Joseph Sheffer and Julia Sheffer; five great grandchildren and one sister, Lettie Beasley of Wetumpka, Ala.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Friends may call from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2008 at the Free Methodist Church, 683 Portland Way North, Galion, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2008 with Rev. Paul Walter officiating.
