Mary Elizabeth Pace returned to the Lord Tuesday, August 21 at Hospice House of Ashland surrounded by family.

Born March 30, 1924 at the family farm outside of Butler, Ohio.

She was married for 57 years to Garnet Pace.

Mary is survived by daughter and son-in-law Diana and Stan Butts, two grandsons Mick (Staci) Fry of Loudonville, OH, Tim (Christy) Fry of Grand Junction, CO. , and step-grandson Brian (Colette) Butts of Martinsburg, OH and six great grandchildren: Luke Butts, Garett Fry, Katie Fry, Sydney Fry, Dylan Butts, and Jack Fry.

She was employed at Tappan’s first in the personal office and later as Director of outside sales.

She was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, Ruth Chapter #17 Order of the Eastern Star, Amvets Ladies Auxiliary Post #43 of Bellville, 8 et 40 of Mansfield, American Legion Post #535 of Bellville, and Ladies Auxiliary Post # 5101 of Lexington.

She was preceded in death by her husband Garnet G. Pace; her mother and step-father Eva and Cliff Wachtel ; father and step-mother Bruce and Marty Friday; two brothers, James Friday and Albert Friday.

Mary will be interned at Mansfield Memorial Park in a private service. A Celebration of Life will be held at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Dr. Beverly Hall on Tuesday, September 4, at 2:00 PM, followed by a meal and fellowship. In lieu of flowers a donation maybe made to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church or Hospice House of North Central Ohio.
