Mary E. Salini, age 92, of Centerburg died Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Country View of Sunbury.

She was born on March 18, 1916 in Columbus to the late Dominic and Filemenia (Ferronia) Grandomenico. A baker with the Kroger Company for 29 years, she moved to Sunbury in 1972 from the South end of Columbus. She was a founding member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Sunbury. Humble, she was a loving mother and hard worker, who enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and cooking.

She is survived by daughter: Sylvia Demko of Reynoldsburg, Grandchildren: Deborah (Danny) Hinty, Carl (Shellie) Demko, Mary Doersam, LouAnn Canini, and Alexander (Liz) Salini, 16 Great-grandchildren, and 8 Great-great-grandchildren, brothers: Anthony (Louise) Grandominico, Joseph (Eilene) Grandominico both of Galena, sisters: Lucy Henthorne of Mt. Vernon, Edith Masters of Marysville, and sister-in-law: Josephine Dauer of Westerville.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years: Alexander J. Salini in 1991, son: Angelo Salini in 2006, brother: Ernest Grandominico, and sisters: Vivian Cooper, Elizabeth Winko, sister-in-law: Mary Helen Barber, Rose Ricci, and Pauline Evans.

The family will greet friends Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., prayer services 8:00 at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, (SR 3 at SR 61) Sunbury. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 275 Carter’s Corner Rd., Sunbury, with Rev. David Sizemore Celebrant, internment St. Joseph Cemetery.
