Mary E. “Betty” Money

Mary E. “Betty” Money, age 88 of Delaware died Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Riverside Hospital.
She was born on November 13, 1921 in Paris, Illinois to the late Joseph V. and Mary Alice (Condon) Steidl. A successful realtor in New Jersey, Betty moved to the Willow Brook Community in 2003 from Upper Arlington.
One to always put the needs of others before her own, she enjoyed a good sense of humor and a quick wit. The consummate worker, she wasn’t happy without some work to do, which she did until the very end. She was a skilled seamstress and a wonderful cook and baker. Betty also enjoyed gardening, especially growing roses and tomatoes.
She is survived by daughters: Mary Alice Money of Worthington, Rebecca (Dan) Bobb of Delaware, son: Thomas Money (fiancée Joan Curtiss) of Tucson, AZ, grandsons: Samuel and Martin Bobb, brothers: Jack (Kate) Steidl of Issaqua, WA, Joseph C. Steidl of South Elgin, IL, and David (Shirley) Steidl of Plainfield, IL.
Preceded in death by husband of 42 years: James Money in 1988.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware, where memorial services will follow Sunday at 4:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. James Black of St. Mary Church.
