Mary C. Wells, age 92 of Leonardsburg passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Grady Memorial Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Harry, Sr. and Clara (Wheeler) Cackler, her first husband of 43 years: DeWitt E. Wells, second husband Roy Carson, daughter Erma Jean (Earl) Hesson, brothers: Harold, James, and Charles, sisters: Ruth Schillinger, Grace Williams, and Helen Conway.

Mary is survived by son Eddie (Carole) Wells of Delaware, daughters: Joan Wells of Delaware, and Sally (Ted) Messner of Columbus, sisters: Minnie Blair and brother: Harry Cackler Jr. both of Delaware, 10 Grandchildren, 2 Step-grandchildren, 12 Great-grandchildren, 1 Step-great-granddaughter, 4 Great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

She loved her farm and home, gardening and flowers. She and her late husband provided well for their four children and their families. Mary retired from Ranco, Inc. after 26 years. For ten years she served as the 4-H advisor for the Silver Thimble Club in Leonardsburg and she was a life member of the Delaware Senior Citizens on Park Ave. She won several awards for her counter cross stitching pictures and gifted her family with her beautiful workmanship.

Her family will greet friends Friday from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware, where funeral services will follow Friday 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Don Wallick of The Church of The Good Shepherd, Columbus officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Mound Cemetery in Kilbourne.
