Mary Ann Smith, 90, of rural Galion passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018 at her residence.

Born May 1, 1928 in Crawford County, she was the daughter of George and Retha (Windbigler) Hadsell.  She married Calvin F. Smith on June 19, 1975 and he preceded her on December 30, 2006. She was previously married to Paul Shaffer and he preceded her on December 12, 1960.

Mary Ann was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Galion and worked at the former North Electric and PECO as an assembler and cable maker. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting and knitting.

She is survived by daughters Arenia Ann Lee of Galion and Sharon Louise Shaffer of Galion; son David E.  Shaffer of Colorado; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by sister Dorothy Dotson and twin sister Martha Holderness.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2018 at Crawford County Memory Gardens in Crestline with Pastor Marcellus de Oliveira officiating.
