Marvin L. Wirick

Marvin L. Wirick, 83, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011 at home.
Born Aug. 6, 1927 in Johnsville, he was the son of the late Lester and Hattie West Wirick. He was preceded in death on July 20, 2010 by his wife, Wanda L. Ireland Wirick whom he married in 1961.
He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Galion and liked farming, gardening, loved to eat and was on a bowling league. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Marvin worked at the former Galion Manufacturing/Dresser/Komatsu for 35 years where he was a welder and later a painter, retiring in 1992.
He is survived by seven children and spouses, David L. and Jane Lynn Wirick of Galion, Kaylene Jaeger of Mansfield, Diana and Thomas Miller of Galion, Andrew and Sherry Wirick of Mt. Gilead, Bruce and Judy Wirick of Galion, Bradley Wirick of Galion and Craig and Denise Wirick of Galion; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one sister, Violet Zachman of Galion.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorene Young and Blossom Furr and one brother, Varion Wirick.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24, with Bishop Craig Andrew officiating. Burial will follow in Shauck Cemetery.
