Marvin L. McFann, age 82 of Marion, passed away on Thursday August 16, 2018 at Marion General Hospital.

Marvin was born on July 7, 1936 in Marion, the son of Ralph and Bessie (Brookens) McFann. Marvin graduated from Harding High School in the class of 1954. He then went on to attend the Ohio State University.

Marvin worked at Fairfield Engineering for 47 years. For the last 10 years, Marvin has worked as a realtor for Caldwell Bankers and Marvich Realty in Marion.

He was an avid golfer and served as past president of the Marion Country Club. He was also a past president of Goodwill Industries and the 20/30 Service Club. Marvin loved sports and cheered on the Cleveland Browns and the Indians. He also was a huge fan of OSU sports.

On December 5, 1953, Marvin was united in marriage to Sandra Mae Leffler at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Marion by Rev. Hollensen. Marvin and Sandra have enjoyed an incredible 64 ½ years of marriage.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Mae McFann; children: Vicky McFann of Dover, Jeff McFann of Marion, Kim (Marty) Comstock of Caledonia, Greg McFann of Dublin and Mark (Barb) McFann of Edison; grandchildren: Sara Beavers and Adam Comstock; great grandchildren: Addison and Jacob Comstock, Zachary and Zoe Beavers; brother Ralph McFann of Colorado, sister-in-law Beth McFann of Marion, brothers-in-law: John (Linda) Leffler of Michigan and Gene Winters of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers: Lowell and Keith McFann.

Visitation will be Monday, August 20, 2018 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 241 South Prospect St., Marion from 12Noon to 1PM; Memorial service will immediately follow at 1PM with Rev. Mark Schuring officiating; Burial will be held privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, it was Marvin’s request that donations be made to the Marion General Hospital Foundation – Hospice.
