Martha J. “Marty” Feasel
September 05, 1938 ‒ October 02, 2013
Martha J. “Marty” Feasel, age 75, of Utica, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Autumn Healthcare in Newark while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born September 5, 1938, in Columbus, to the late Myron and Alma (Carter) Brown.
Marty lived in Sunbury for many years before moving to Utica to be closer to her family. She was a member of Utica Church of Christ where she was baptized in 2012. A member of Eagles Aerie 2252 in Columbus, Marty was often found at the Sunbury Aerie. Marty tended bar for many years at several local establishments before becoming a housekeeper.
A jokester and ornery to the core, Marty truly enjoyed having fun. She was never afraid to tell it how it was. One always knew where they stood with her. She loved playing euchre with her friends and never knew a stranger. Marty’s apartment was where the local residents of her retirement community gathered. The door was always left open for all to come.
She was happiest in the company of her son and grandchildren and always told them “Love You More” which were her last words spoken.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Rusty (Debbie) Feasel of Utica; four grandchildren, Ryan (Kim) Praither of Virginia; Stacie (Shaun) Holmes of Westerville; Eddie Feasel of Columbus and Mandy Feasel of Marengo; six great grandchildren, Courtney, Triston, Cody, Cole, Megan and Kyra; seven stepchildren, several step grandchildren as well as numerous extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving partner through life, Sheridan “Woody” Woods; brothers, Ray and Myron “Peanut” Brown and sister, Loa Mae Brown, step father, Jesse “Hap” Hollis.
The family will receive friends Sunday, October 6, from 2-5 pm at the Utica Church of Christ, 115 N. Central in Utica and again Monday from 10-11 am at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury, where funeral services will follow Monday at 11:00 am with Pastor Alan Pratt officiating.
