Martha Hildebrand, 78, of Las Vegas (Previously from Johnsville/Mt. Gilead), died Wednesday, November 30, 2016, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born June 15, 1938 in Morrow County to the late Roy and Clara McCory Huvler. She attended Johnsville schools and remained in the Morrow County Area until 2007 when she relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada. Martha retired following 30 years of school bus driving with the Lexington School District. At the age of 55, she obtained a degree in Human Services and then worked as a teacher’s aid for several years with special needs children. She attended First Congregational Church in Lexington, where she played organ for many years.

She is survived by three sons and daughters in law: Leslie and Jane Hildebrand of Lexington, Roger and Terrie Hildebrand of TN, Lillian Hildebrand of TN, Kurt Hildebrand of SC, Brandy Hildebrand of Bucyrus; two daughters and a son in law, Sherry Spires of Georgia and Emily and David Burggraf of Nevada, 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; four brothers and sisters in law: Dean and Edith Huvler of Ontario, Melvin Huvler of Mansfield, Wayne and Sheryl Huvler of Texas, Carol Huvler of Galion and Roy and Barbara Huvler of Bellville.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband L. Trent Hildebrand (1997), her son Dennis Hildebrand (1999) and her brothers Marvin and Roger Huvler.

A memorial service will be held on January 12, 2017 at 6 pm at the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. Pastor David Smith will officiate.

Memorial Contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association may be made at the funeral home.
