Martha Ellen Stahl Lehnhart

MANSFIELD: Martha Ellen Stahl Lehnhart, age 93, formerly of 1125 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield, died Saturday May 26, 2001 in Hillcrest Nursing Center following a long illness.
She was born January 9, 1908 in Ankneytown in Knox County to George E. and Lillian Walker Stahl, and had been a lifelong Bellville area resident.
Martha had worked at Westinghouse in Mansfield prior to her marriage on June 21, 1929 to Fred W. Lehnhart. From 1955 until her retirement in 1973 she worked in the disc department at the former Essex Wire Company in Lexington.
Martha and Fred operated a farm on Alexander Road from 1943 to 1958. He preceded her in death on September 26, 1971.
An avid traveler, she loved the outdoors, working in her flower gardens and playing bingo.
She was a 50-year member of the Pythian Sisters Lodge in Bellville, and had served as Most Excellent Chief. Martha was also a member of the Lexington Senior Citizens and the Essex Wire Retirees.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law LaDonna & F. William O’Neal and Lillian J. & Thomas R. Brumenshenkel all of Bellville; two sons and three daughters-in-law Jack F. & Nancy Lehnhart of Deland, FL, James H. & Linda Lehnhart of Lexington and Carole Lehnhart Joan of Bellville; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law Margaret & Howard Doner of Mansfield.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son Jerry G. Lehnhart; a grandson Jason O’Neal; a sister Mary Stutz; and four brothers H. Rexford, Clyde, Ralph and Steve Stahl.
Friends may call Monday May 28, 2001 from 5-8 pm in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 am. Mr. Ronald Motter will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Jefferson Township-Bellville Rescue Squad may be made at the funeral home.
