Marsha Kay De Chant, age 55, of Salem Ave Fredericktown, died Tuesday, September 23, 2003, at the Knox Community Hospital. She was born June 27, 1948, in Mansfield, Ohio, the daughter of James and Mildred (Hall) Fisher and had been a Knox County resident most of her life. She graduated from Fredericktown High School as a member of the Class of 1966 and was awarded her Batchelor’s Degree in Nursing from the Grant Hospital School of Nursing in 1970. Mrs. De Chant had participated in mission work at the Red Bird Mission in Beverly, Kentucky and had been active as a volunteer with the Nursing Classes of the Knox County Career Center. She was a member of the Fredericktown First Presbyterian Church and had attended the Fredericktown First Baptist Church and the Fredericktown United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her mother of Mount Vernon, Her husband of 29 years Jacque DeChant and son James T. DeChant both of Fredericktown, grandson Mason DeChant, step-grandchildren Samantha Belcher and Seth Popham, sister Martha Ann (Phil) Lehman of Elkhart, Indiana and brother Gregory (Kathy) Fisher of Coshocton. She was preceded in death by her father.

Friends may call at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 pm until 4 pm and 6 pm until 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 am at the funeral home and burial will follow in the Owl Creek Church Cemetery in Ankenytown.
