Marjorie “Margie” Virginia (Wray) Long, age 80 of Delaware has finally met with all her loved ones on that beautiful shore, on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. Going on the trip she longed for when in pain, but fought so hard to stay here with loved ones when feeling well.
She was born on June 21, 1937 in Frazier’s Bottom, West Virginia to the late Emma K. (Crist) and Ward E. Wray. Margie was married to Willard Glenn Long, 82, for 60 plus years as she would proudly tell whoever she talked to. They were married February 2, 1957 in Winfield, WV, moving to Delaware in 1958 to work and raise their family.
Marjorie was a wonderful wife and mother. Raising four children while canning goodies from the garden and selling fresh veggies at the farmers market. Dedicated to her family, her table was always open and her wonderful fried chicken will long be remembered.
She enjoyed attending yard sales, auctions, and collecting anything and everything from glassware and chickens to frogs.
One never to complain, she fought off many illnesses over the years. She was raised by very spiritual parents and she made sure her family knew about Jesus. She was a long time member of East Side Mission Church and former member of Tops.
One not afraid to speak her mind, she was the true guardian of her family. Margie enjoyed a passion for meeting and talking with people. Her friendly nature will long be remembered.
